Horace Greene Merch

Horace Greene is an indie rock band based out of Oshkosh, WI. They are best known for their energetic live shows. During the design process, the artwork evolved into a patchwork of ideas and vision. It finally culminated into an eye catching bass drum decal that captures the movement of their live performance and became a focal point on stage.

Early American Ice Cream Album

Their first studio album showcases the before and after of neapolitan ice cream melting on a platter. The ice cream was carefully removed from it’s box and then melted in the microwave before it was photographed. The photographs chosen were then re-created into vector illustrations. The color palette really capitalizes on the theme, and the album artwork leaves the viewer intrigued to find out what the band is really all about.

The Diamond Engine Album

The band’s second studio album took on the theme of a diamond. The members tossed around many ideas about how to simply touch on creating artwork for the title without getting too extravagant, and so the front cover displays a single diamond as the focal point but leaves a lot of negative space so that it’s geometric elements can really stand out. With a clean slab serif title and a no frills san serif font for sub-titles, the theme of the album stays simple and clear to read.

The t-shirt design created for the album’s release uses the recycled diamond illustration altered to give it new life and movement. An illustration of the singer’s car takes front and center as the diamonds explode upward. The graphics together make the viewer wonder what’s happening as the elements draw your eye in to see the diamonds, car and font as a whole.
